Counseling for Substance Addictions is specific to your individual needs and designed to meet you
where you are in your recovery journey.  It can help you with understanding your addiction in the way
you may think and patterns of behavior that happened over and over.  For some people, there is a
connection between their substance use and mental health issues, like depression or anxiety.

Once you have gotten sober, now what?  Therapy can provide insight about how substance use
functioned as a way to cope with life and how to cope differently in recovery.  It can assist you in
developing a personalized recovery plan for lifestyle changes, triggers to use, relapse prevention and
long-term maintenance of recovery.  It can prepare you for what to do when life happens.

Often substance use can create many problems within family relationships, such as separation or
divorce, loss of trust, loss of family and friends and a lack of support for sobriety.  Counseling can help
you rebuild important relationships, learn to regain trust, develop coping strategies and build a effective
support system to help you develop lasting lifestyle changes.

It is
not a in-patient or out-patient treatment program for achieving sobriety but intended to be a
therapeutic supplement to these, along with appropriate support groups.
